I will be introducing a resolution to designate July 22, 2025, as “Hemihyperplasia Awareness Day” in Pennsylvania. This initiative seeks to spotlight hemihyperplasia, a rare condition characterized by one-sided body overgrowth, and to promote early diagnosis and further research. Hemihyperplasia often goes unnoticed due to its subtle signs, such as uneven limbs or facial asymmetry. Raising awareness is essential to improve recognition, support, and outcomes for those affected. This condition, sometimes associated with syndromes like Beckwith-Wiedemann, presents varying degrees of severity and remains under-researched, underscoring the need for greater attention and resources.

I urge your support for this resolution to champion awareness and show solidarity with the hemihyperplasia community.
