The bill amends the Administrative Code of 1929 to include a new section focused on pelvic floor dysfunction education. It grants the Department of Health the authority and responsibility to partner with healthcare providers, such as obstetricians, gynecologists, and urologists, as well as community health centers and hospitals, to educate individuals about pelvic floor dysfunction and related conditions. The Department is tasked with creating informational materials, both electronic and physical, to be distributed to individuals identified by healthcare providers as experiencing or likely to experience pelvic floor dysfunction, particularly postpartum women.

The educational materials must cover various aspects, including symptoms and treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction, biological processes related to the condition, and recommendations for postpartum assessments. The bill aims to enhance awareness and understanding of pelvic floor dysfunction, ensuring that individuals have access to necessary information to seek appropriate care. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
