In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would require PennDOT to build a highway noise barrier on Interstate 295 in Middletown Township, Bucks County. Constituents have brought to my attention the loud noise from Interstate 295 and it’s become a life-adjusting nuisance: entire neighborhoods are unable to enjoy their community and their properties.  Trucks and vehicular traffic travel within this busy corridor in southeastern Pennsylvania that funnels heavy traffic between New England, New York and Philadelphia daily.
In order to complete this important project and to not impact other highway construction projects across the Commonwealth, the legislation will transfer $40 million from the General Fund to the Motor License Fund. Any funds not used for the projects will be transferred back to the General Fund.
Please join me in sponsoring this legislation to help constituents reduce the noise pollution from Interstate 295.
