Life insurance provides families across Pennsylvania with financial security and peace of mind during life’s most difficult times. Currently, six million Pennsylvania residents hold life insurance coverage, with an average benefit of $148,000 per policyholder. In 2024 alone, $11.7 billion was paid to beneficiaries in Pennsylvania, highlighting the critical role of life insurance in protecting families from financial hardship.
Despite these benefits, many Pennsylvanians remain underinsured or lack life insurance entirely, placing their loved ones at risk in the event of an unexpected loss. Families facing economic challenges have fewer financial resources to rely on, making life insurance more crucial than ever.

September is recognized nationally as Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), an initiative led by Life Happens, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and a coalition of leading insurance companies. This campaign seeks to educate consumers about the importance of life insurance and encourage individuals to explore coverage options that best fit their needs. By designating September 2025 as Life Insurance Awareness Month in Pennsylvania, my resolution will encourage residents to learn more about life insurance, consult with financial professionals, and take proactive steps toward ensuring their families' future financial security.

I invite all members to join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to raise awareness and promote financial preparedness among Pennsylvanians.
