In the near future, I will reintroduce legislation I previously carried in the House to abolish the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) in Pennsylvania.

The EQB unnecessarily duplicates efforts by voting on and promulgating regulations for the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). These regulations already undergo thorough scrutiny by the Independent Regulatory Review Commission under the Regulatory Review Act, rendering the EQB’s role largely redundant.

My legislation will eliminate the EQB, requiring the DEP to directly promulgate and take responsibility for its own regulations. This reform will streamline government operations and reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies.

I invite you to join me in cosponsoring this important bill to enhance Pennsylvania’s regulatory process.
