In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution declaring May 6-12, 2025, as “Nurses Week” in Pennsylvania.

"National Nurses Week" begins May 6 and ends May 12 each year, in conjunction with Florence Nightingale's birthday.

As nurses, we understand the commitment and significant job that nurses across Pennsylvania do every day. Each May, we come together to promote the importance of “Nurses Week”. It highlights the numerous ways all nurses are working to transform health care across the Commonwealth. Our dedicated nursing professionals are working diligently to meet the health care needs of our Commonwealth and deserve to be recognized for this commitment. It is vital that we use “Nurses Week” to reach out and celebrate the nurses at work in the Commonwealth and thank them for their dedication and commitment to providing excellent patient care.

With more than 313,000 nurses in the Commonwealth, they represent Pennsylvania’s largest segment of health care providers.
