It has become increasingly common for people to utilize video cameras in their home. These cameras can be used for a variety of reasons including ensuring the physical safety of our loved ones, especially those who may be at risk of a fall. Residents should be able to have a video camera in their home without it impacting their ability to receive in-home care and services.
My legislation will ensure that eligible families can participate in the Living Independence for the Elderly (LIFE) program even when they have a video camera in their home. It will require the resident to provide written notification to the LIFE provider of the existence of the video camera prior to receiving services.
Individuals will not be required to have a video camera in their home, but it provides our citizens with the choice to do so.
