In the near future, I will introduce legislation that would allow an individual to donate to the Fire Company Grant Program and Emergency Medical Services Grant Programs. These programs help Fire and EMS companies for a variety of projects including facilities, equipment, recruitment and retention, and training.

Currently, when individuals renew their driver’s license or vehicle registrations, they have the ability to check a box and donate to the Veterans’ Trust Fund, to pediatric cancer research, breast cancer research, and for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Specifically, my bill would add options for an individual to donate to Fire and EMS companies when renewing their driver’s license or vehicle registrations. Donations would be in the form of $5 for driver’s licenses or a one-year registration renewal or a $10 option for a two year registration renewal.
