This bill amends Titles 18 and 53 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, specifically addressing the regulation of firearms and ammunition by political subdivisions. It modifies Section 6120(a) to state that, with the exception of a new subsection (a.4), no political subdivision may regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer, or transportation of firearms and ammunition. The new subsection allows political subdivisions to enact ordinances that regulate these activities on property they own, operate, or maintain, including buildings, parks, and vehicles.

Additionally, the bill repeals Section 2962(g) of Title 53, which previously prohibited municipalities from enacting any ordinances related to the regulation of firearms. This repeal removes the restriction on municipal powers concerning firearms regulation, thereby allowing local governments more authority to manage firearm-related activities on their properties. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
