A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing March 12, 2025, as "Registered Dietitian
2 Nutritionist Day" in Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, Registered dietitian nutritionists are food and
4 nutrition experts who translate the science of nutrition into
5 practical solutions for healthy living; and
6 WHEREAS, Registered dietitian nutritionists have degrees in
7 nutrition, dietetics, public health or a related field from
8 well-respected, accredited colleges and universities; and
9 WHEREAS, Registered dietitian nutritionists have completed an
10 internship, passed a national examination and complete
11 continuing professional education requirements to earn the
12 registered dietitian nutritionist credential; and
13 WHEREAS, Registered dietitian nutritionists form an important
14 part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which is
15 recognizing the month of March 2025 as "National Nutrition
16 Month®" and March 12, 2025, as "National Registered Dietitian
17 Nutritionist Day"; and
 1 WHEREAS, This Commonwealth licenses many registered dietitian
2 nutritionists yearly to work in hospitals, schools, public
3 health clinics, nursing homes, fitness centers, the food
4 industry, universities and other entities; and
5 WHEREAS, Approximately 3,127 residents of this Commonwealth
6 are members of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and
7 Dietetics, which is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and
8 Dietetics and advocates for promotion of optimal nutrition,
9 health and well-being in this Commonwealth; therefore be it
10 RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize March 12, 2025, as
11 "Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day" in Pennsylvania; and be
12 it further
13 RESOLVED, That the Senate laud the Pennsylvania Academy of
14 Nutrition and Dietetics, all of its members and other registered
15 dietitian nutritionists in this Commonwealth for their daily
16 work to promote good nutrition, good eating and quality living
17 for individuals in this Commonwealth.
