Recently, a report from the Pennsylvania Auditor General exposed that some cyber charter schools in the state are shelling out over $196 million to purchase and renovate buildings across the state—despite the fact that these schools are supposed to be cyber schools, providing a virtual education.

It’s time we put an end to cyber charter schools stockpiling real estate with taxpayer dollars. My legislation will prevent these schools and their management companies from owning, purchasing, or leasing property moving forward. The goal is simple: keep education funds focused where they belong—on students, not on expanding property portfolios. Cyber charter schools are designed to offer online learning, and these massive property acquisitions are not only unnecessary but a misuse of public funds.

I invite you to join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation to protect taxpayer money and keep cyber charter schools focused on their core mission of improving online education opportunities for students.
