In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will amend Article VI of the Pennsylvania Constitution, by creating a new provision, which would allow the General Assembly to establish an attendance policy for members of elected municipal governing boards.

Across the state there have been many cases of elected officials refusing to attend regularly scheduled public meetings therefore, neglecting the duties that they were elected to perform, with no recourse to remove them from office and replace them with someone, willing to fulfill their duties.

This Constitutional Amendment and the subsequent legislation would provide the necessary means for the General Assembly to remedy absenteeism of local elected officials.

Please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this important legislation.
