As Pennsylvania families continue facing rising costs, we must continue working to alleviate the financial burdens families face when making educational choices that best suit their children’s needs. While we have taken steps in recent years to provide needed financial relief—such as expanding the child and dependent care tax credit—there is still more we can do to ease the burden on families seeking alternatives to traditional public schooling.
To address this challenge, I plan to reintroduce legislation to offer a tax credit of up to $8,000 per child, per year, to assist with educational expenses of children enrolled in non-public schools. This bill recognizes the diverse educational needs of students and provides much-needed support for parents making significant financial sacrifices to ensure their children receive the best possible education.
With this legislation, we can expand educational opportunities and empower parents to choose the best educational option that suits their child’s needs. Please join me in this important effort to support Pennsylvania’s students and families.
