Pennsylvania faces a shortage of skilled workers in critical industries like healthcare, manufacturing, and construction. Investing in career and technical education (CTE) is essential to address this gap and strengthen the state’s economy.

My resolution recognizes the week of May 4 through May 10, 2025, as “Career and Technology Week” and May 7, 2025, as “National Skilled Trades Day”. By recognizing and aligning these observances, it celebrates the contributions of CTE and skilled trades professionals who provide the technical skills that drive our workforce and economy forward. This recognition emphasizes the importance of CTE and skilled trades, inspiring students to explore these valuable career paths and fostering stronger connections between education and industry.

I ask for your support in recognizing May 4-10, 2025, as “Career and Technology Week” and May 7, 2025, as “National Skilled Trades Day” to honor the vital role of CTE and skilled trades in Pennsylvania’s workforce.
