Apprenticeships are vital in preparing young workers to join the workforce and establish a career. Employers should be encouraged to create and support apprenticeship programs that produce able workers to fill needed positions across Pennsylvania.

My legislation would establish tax credits for employers sponsoring certified, state-registered apprenticeship programs. Qualifying employers can receive tax credits which can be used against income or franchise taxes for each full-time qualified apprentice. Enhanced tax credits may be available to employers who hire disadvantaged youth apprentices and/or create apprenticeship
mentorship programs to provide additional support.

Supporting young people in learning a trade not only advances the quality of the workforce but strengthens our economy. Encouraging employers to participate in apprenticeship programs grows the pool of qualified workers ready to take on new challenges.

Please join me in supporting apprenticeship programs and the businesses and youth who benefit from them.
