I will soon be introducing legislation to move Pennsylvania’s deadline to request a mail-in or absentee ballot further back before each Election Day. The current 7-day deadline to request a ballot regularly misleads Pennsylvania voters into thinking that as long as they apply by that date, they will be able to successfully vote by mail. In practical terms, there is a very low chance that a ballot requested at the deadline can be mailed to a voter and timely returned by mail prior to 8 pm on Election Day. Please join me in establishing an honest and workable deadline for these requests.
