This bill amends the Human Services Code to enhance the reimbursement process for medical assistance items and services in Pennsylvania. Specifically, it modifies Section 443.6(g) by establishing a single benefit package for pharmacy services for medical assistance recipients aged twenty-one and older, while also introducing a new subsection (h) that mandates the creation of a benefit package for dental services for the same age group. The department is required to publish notices in the Pennsylvania Bulletin detailing the available benefits, limits, and exceptions, which will take effect as specified in the notices.

Additionally, the bill abrogates any existing regulations that are inconsistent with its provisions. It stipulates that if a Federal waiver or State plan amendment is approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Secretary of Human Services must notify the Legislative Reference Bureau for publication. The act is set to take effect immediately, with the exception of Section 2, which will take effect following the publication of the necessary notice.
