In the midst of a climate where history is rapidly being rewritten or even erased, it is important to help foster communities inclusive to LGBTQ+ individuals. Because of this, I am introducing legislation to mandate the inclusion of the important political, economic, and social contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in Pennsylvania’s K-12 curriculum.  By teaching our children about influential LGBTQ+ individuals such as Marsha P. Johnson, Chris Smith, Billie Jean King, and James Baldwin, we can demonstrate the profound, positive impact that LGBTQ+ individuals have had on our society and work to create a more tolerant and inclusive world.

Every student deserves to feel safe and supported in their educational environment.  Please join me in making our schools more inclusive to all students by co-sponsoring this important legislation.
This is a reintroduction of HB1998 from the 2023-2024 Legislative Session. Previous co-sponsors include: GUENST, SMITH-WADE-EL, TAKAC, HILL-EVANS, MADDEN, BOROWSKI, SCHLOSSBERG, SANCHEZ, STURLA, OTTEN, DELLOSO, BRIGGS, FIEDLER, WEBSTER, T. DAVIS, KHAN, KRAJEWSKI, CERRATO, AND WAXMAN.
