I will soon be re-introducing legislation to propose an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution making the Secretary of the Commonwealth an elected position.  As issues regarding election administration become increasingly prominent in public debate, the ability of voters to directly elect Pennsylvania’s chief elections official could help improve public confidence in that individual.  It is time for Pennsylvania to join the 35 states that already elect this office.
