Currently, nearly 700,000 social workers serve communities across our nation, and another 100,000 are expected to enter the field by 2030. To recognize their invaluable contributions, I will introduce a resolution to designate March 2025 as “National Social Worker Month” in Pennsylvania.

Every day, social workers empower individuals, families, and communities to address challenges and reach their full potential. Their impact extends into schools, hospitals, the military, child welfare agencies, community centers, and all levels of government. From aiding veterans’ transitions to civilian life, to fortifying struggling families, to connecting people with transformative services, social workers play a crucial role in strengthening our communities.

As economic inequality grows, health disparities widen, and our population ages, social workers have become more indispensable than ever—both across the United States and throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Please join us in honoring these professionals’ vital work by co-sponsoring this resolution. Thank you for your consideration.
