In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation from last session (formerly HB 76) that will amend ACT 89, which compels the Department of Revenue to automatically adjust the gas tax rate annually. This will almost always add to the sale of gas for PA consumers each year.
In a time of crippling stagflation, the last thing Pennsylvanians need as they fill up their tanks is a “new” tax automatically added to their essential purchase, without having a say or their voice in Harrisburg being able to vote on such a measure. This yearly adjustment should be capped, or frozen, so that it cannot climb any higher, at the expense of the people of our commonwealth.
Please consider co-sponsoring this resolution which aims to protect Pennsylvanians from higher costs at the gas pump.
