Happy Birthday, Pennsylvania! You look good for 344 years old.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution celebrating Pennsylvania’s birthday as well as the original charter which granted land in the New World to William Penn in 1681. William Penn would go on to establish democratic precepts in the colony that continue to shape our Commonwealth and nation today.

The resolution urges state residents, schools and other educational institutions and patriotic, religious, historical and veterans groups to participate with Charter Day activities held within the Commonwealth.  It also recognizes the volunteers and other residents who keep history alive through the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, the Pennsylvania State Archives, the State Historical Records Advisory Board, the 23 other state historic sites and museums, and through the numerous other historical organizations within the Commonwealth.

Please co-sponsor this resolution to recognize March 9, 2025, as “Charter Day” in Pennsylvania.
