In the very near future, we plan to introduce a resolution recognizing March 8, 2025, as “International Women’s Day” in Pennsylvania.

“International Women’s Day” was first celebrated in 1911. “International Women’s Day” in Pennsylvania shines a spotlight on the extraordinary leadership of women who have shaped the state’s past, present, and future. This day celebrates their achievements, honors their contributions to the state’s progress, and inspires future generations of women to lead boldly. It’s a moment to reflect on the trans-formative power of women’s leadership and its impact on building stronger, more vibrant communities across Pennsylvania.

In 2017, a day prior to “International Women’s Day,” the “Fearless Girl” statue was debuted in downtown Manhattan, NY; across from the famous "Charging Bull" statue. The small statute standing less than five feet stands strong against the massive beast, leaves visitors with a powerful message of women in the workplace. The plaque below the statue states as follows: "Know the power of women in leadership. She makes a difference.”

“International Women’s Day” is an ideal day to celebrate the achievements of women across the Commonwealth. Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to honor women across Pennsylvania and the world.
