Soon I plan to reintroduce my ‘Student Freedom Account Act’ legislation that hands the freedom to choose one’s educational path to Pennsylvania parents and students. My bill would direct state money to follow students to their educational opportunity of choice.
Prioritizing students over systems has worked tremendously in states that have embraced universal educational choice. Not only has this initiative improved outcomes for countless students who enroll in the program, it has also shown to improve outcomes of public-school students.
Our kids deserve the best possible education that we can offer them. For some that will be public-school, some a specialized academy, others a private school, charter school, cyber charter school, or homeschool co-op. Educational options are a good thing and depriving Pennsylvania students the freedom to excel will not help prepare our students for college or the workforce.
Please join me in supporting this important bill.
