In the near future we intend to introduce legislation to remove tips and overtime wages from your taxable income.

Hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians work in the service industry or in a field where overtime hours are offered. For some, it’s a part-time job to help bring in more household income. For others the extra work is needed just to stay afloat. These working people are the backbone of our economy and deserve a tax cut. The change we will propose will also help businesses retain their employees and encourage out-of-state workers to move to Pennsylvania to benefit from our tax policy.

By treating overtime and tips as separate classes of compensation, this will allow us to offer a targeted tax credit to offset any taxes collected. This means more workers will be able to see more of their hard-earned money return to them.

As legislators, we must begin to think outside the box and find ways to attract businesses and develop the best workforce possible. This package of legislation is critical to foster a pro-growth economy in Pennsylvania that works for both businesses and workers.

Please join us in co-sponsoring this important legislation.
