In the near future, I plan to reintroduce
Senate Bill 779 from the previous session. This legislation strengthens Pennsylvania’s state preemption over firearms and ammunition regulations.

Without uniform state laws, the result can be chaos, as restrictions vary from one local jurisdiction to another. It is unreasonable to expect Pennsylvania residents, as well as citizens passing through from other states, to be aware of every local firearm ordinance as they move from one jurisdiction to the next.

Specifically, this legislation would further prevent local jurisdictions from enacting ordinances that are more restrictive than those established by the General Assembly. It will also reinforce and restore the original intent of the Uniform Firearms Act, ensuring consistent and clear regulations across the state.

Previous co-sponsors of this legislation include: Argall, Baker, Brooks, Vogel, Phillips-Hill, Mastriano, Pennycuick, Stefano, Hutchinson, Yaw, J. Ward, Aument, Dush, Bartolotta, and Martin.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this critical legislation to protect Second Amendment rights and uphold the rule of law.
