I plan to reintroduce legislation that will ensure our school districts are accountable and transparent about their financial health. As lawmakers in Harrisburg continue to increase their financial investment in education spending in Pennsylvania each year, it is important to ensure our taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent wisely.

The Department of Education's spending numbers show continued record growth for the state’s public education funding. In the 2022-2023 school year, school district spending soared to over $35B.

The School District Financial Transparency Act will require local school districts to provide residents with critical district financial information including how much the district spends per pupil and how much the district has in reserve funds.

Now more than ever, as families battle record inflation and stagnant wages, we owe it to the taxpayers of Pennsylvania to let them know where this significant portion of their tax dollars is spent.
