In the near future, I will re-introduce legislation to direct the Department of General Services to grant and convey property in Rush Township, Schuylkill County.

For over 60 years, this 2.5-acre property was leased by a family-owned golf course from the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) for parking. This acreage is at the edge of Tuscarora State Park and has never been used for anything state park related. As with all lease agreements, when the golf course changed ownership, the lease needed to be renegotiated.

A simple issue that should have been quickly resolved turned into a bureaucratic nightmare. We are continuing in conversations with DCNR to reach a compromise.

This legislation will transfer ownership of this small parcel of land to the golf course.  The new owner is committed to maintaining it in the same manner as in the past 60 years.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation which passed the Senate last session.
