In the near future, I will be introducing two pieces of legislation which would prohibit medical services that harm and mutilate children here in Pennsylvania and protects minors from irreparable gender transitioning procedures. Additionally, it seeks to prevent the use of our tax dollars from going towards such heinous services.

This legislation will mirror that of other states, such as Tennessee, which prevents minors from going through with permanent procedures that will leave them impaired for their entire lives. A horrific trend is taking place, and our children are under attack. Across the nation, hospitals and medical facilities are targeting children and administering irreversible sex change interventions on minors.
From 2019 to 2023, nearly 14,000 American children received permanent gender reassignment related treatments, more than 5,500 sex change surgeries were performed on children, and almost 63,000 hormone and puberty blockers prescriptions written for more than 8,500 minors. Most disturbingly of all, these barbaric procedures and practices enriched the medical industry with almost $120 million. This exorbitant profit is funded by your tax dollars, and it is happening at too many of the children’s hospitals within our state.
These choices have dire consequences. Minors taking permanent sex changing hormones have a proven increased risked of depression, cardiovascular disease and decreased bone mineral density. Those who undergo surgical procedures often experience sexual dysfunction for the rest of their lives and many lose the ability to conceive children of their own. A review commissioned by the National Health Service in England, which was reaffirmed by United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, during oral arguments of the U.S. v. Skrmetti case; shows that there is no evidence that child sex changes reduce or prevent suicide. Many European countries have since banned these procedures on minors.
How does a child possibly make an informed decision on life-altering choices such as these? They cannot. We do not allow minors to make decisions such as buying cigarettes or alcohol for a reason. Indeed, it is a matter of following the science.
