Few things are more important than having clear and concise statutes that govern the continuity of our state government when one of our leaders is unable to perform the duties of their office.

During a public hearing of the State Government Committee, we heard from several experts that our law, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor Disability Procedure Law (Act 347 of 1974), is in dire need of an update and I am re-introducing legislation to do so.

After almost 50 years, it is crucial that we modernize this important act. Last session, this bill passed unanimously from the Senate State Government Committee and the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
