For some Pennsylvania homeowners, real estate professionals occasionally deliver flyers asking the homeowner to consider selling their property. For other homeowners, they are bombarded with almost constant flyers, phone calls, and personal visits to their front door, all trying to convince the homeowner to sell their property. This level of solicitation can be interpreted as harassment and steps must be taken to provide these homeowners with some relief.
My legislation will help control solicitation by implementing zones where solicitation is prohibited. If a homeowner’s property sits within this zone, they can request to be placed on a “Homeowner Cease and Desist List,” which would prohibit real estate professionals from contacting the homeowner. These zones do not prohibit homeowners from selling their property. They simply halt any unwanted solicitation and place the decision to sell back in the hands of the homeowner.
Please join me in protecting Pennsylvania homeowners from uncontrolled, unwanted solicitation by co-sponsoring this bill.
