In the 2024 general election, 66 candidates for the General Assembly missed the final campaign reporting deadline, denying voters the opportunity to fully vet the choices before them on Election Day. Voters deserve to have the full picture of the campaigns they are supporting or opposing and we believe we can leverage modern technology to bridge this gap in information access.

To that end, we will be introducing a resolution that directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a comprehensive study to identify the necessary technology and practices required for the implementation of a reporting system capable of disclosing campaign contribution receipts within 24 hours. The study will also recommend legislative and administrative actions to effectively implement the proposed 24-hour timeframe and suggest appropriate penalties for failure to report within 24 hours.

Pennsylvania deserves an informed electorate and a fair democratic process. Please join us in supporting this study to ensure the public can access information about campaign finances within 24 hours of each contribution.
