Broadband internet services keep communities and people connected. However, many communities and Pennsylvanians lack access to sufficient or any broadband internet. Broadband internet providers currently balance cost and potential future revenue, resulting in many underserved and unserved communities. These communities should have access to this critical infrastructure. As such, I will be introducing a companion bill to Senate Bill 566.

This bill will create an inventory of state-owned assets that can be used for broadband internet services. A list of already existing assets can be used to incentivize providers to expand access outside of more populated areas, providing services that all Pennsylvanians should be able to access.

Broadband internet is a key piece of infrastructure to not only connect communities and people but provide equal access to education, medical services, and increase economic development. Each of these are important for Pennsylvanians everywhere and it is why it is crucial to create an inventory of state assets to help make expansion more feasible.

Please join me to create an inventory of state-owned assets for the development of broadband internet services.
