Continued failures of Northampton County’s election machines in 2023 made clear that our current law regarding machine certification and testing is insufficient to guarantee Pennsylvanians have the reliable and accurate elections system that they deserve. I will soon be re-introducing legislation to expand and formalize requirements for the certification of any voting machine by the Secretary of State, as well as for additional pre-election machine testing in all counties.

This legislation is vital to prevent continued mistakes like those experienced in Northampton in 2019 and 2023. Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation.
