We will soon be introducing legislation to amend Pennsylvania’s Human Relations Act with a modern definition of antisemitism to ensure that Pennsylvanians are protected in their work, school, and personal lives from hostility to the Jewish faith and heritage. Since the devastating October 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas one year ago, Jewish Pennsylvanians and Americans have faced record levels of antisemitism, particularly in some university settings.
Thirty-five other states have taken action to adopt a similar definition. By joining the majority of our peers, Pennsylvania can ensure that the Human Relations Act protects from discrimination based on antisemitism as defined by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, helping to prevent future discrimination and protect Pennsylvanians from antisemitism.

Please join us in sponsoring this timely and important legislation.
