I intend to re-introduce a resolution that recognizes and remembers the over 100 million lives lost to the atrocities of communism in the 20th century. November 7, 2024 marks 107 years since the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia.

Communism is based on the philosophy of Karl Marx and has proven to be incompatible with the ideals of liberty and prosperity and the preservation of the societal value of human life.

President Trump declared November 7th as the National Day for the Victims of Communism, condemning communism as a political philosophy "incompatible with liberty, prosperity, and preserving the dignity of human life."

Communism makes a false promise of equality, but only delivers human atrocities. Many victims of communism died because they chose to speak out against their government.

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization authorized by Congress to educate the public about the human rights violations committed in the name of communist philosophy. The Foundation has advocated that state legislatures introduce legislation to remember the victims of communism on November 7th so that we may all pause and remember those who lost their lives.

Studies consistently reveal that young people do not truly know the history of communism. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution so that we do not forget the people who have died because of the communist ideology.
