AN ACT
1 Amending Titles 30 (Fish) and 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, in fishing licenses, further providing
3 for disabled veterans and former prisoners of war; and, in
4 hunting and furtaking licenses, further providing for
5 resident license and fee exemptions.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 2707(a) of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania
9 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
10 § 2707. Disabled veterans and former prisoners of war.
11 (a) General rule for disabled veterans.--
12 (1) Any disabled veteran who has a disability incurred
13 in [any war or armed conflict which consists of the loss of
14 one or more limbs, or the loss of use of one or more limbs,
15 or total blindness, or] military service who is 100% disabled
16 as certified by the United States Department of Veterans
17 Affairs, and who meets the qualifications of section 2701
18 (relating to resident fishing licenses), shall be issued a
1 free resident fishing license upon application to the
2 commission or a county treasurer. An application submitted by
3 a disabled veteran shall, in addition to any information
4 required under section 2701, contain a statement that the
5 applicant is a [war or armed conflict] military veteran and
6 that the qualifying disability was service incurred. The
7 issuing agent or the commission may require the production of
8 the discharge papers of the applicant.
9 (2) Any disabled veteran who has a disability incurred
10 in [any war or armed conflict] military service and possesses
11 a disability rating between 60% and 99% as certified by the
12 United States Department of Veterans Affairs and who meets
13 the qualifications of section 2701 shall be issued a resident
14 fishing license at the cost of $1 upon application to the
15 commission or a county treasurer. An application submitted by
16 a disabled veteran shall, in addition to any information
17 required under section 2701, contain a statement that the
18 applicant is a [war or armed conflict] military veteran and
19 that the qualifying disability was service incurred. The
20 issuing agent or the commission may require the production of
21 the discharge papers of the applicant.

23 Section 2. Section 2706(b)(1), (1.1) and (2) of Title 34 are
24 amended to read:
25 § 2706. Resident license and fee exemptions.

27 (b) Disabled veterans.--
28 (1) Any resident disabled veteran who has a disability
29 incurred in [any war or armed conflict which consists of the
30 loss of one or more limbs, or the loss of the use of one or

1 more limbs, or] military service who is 100% disabled as
2 certified by the United States Department of Veterans
3 Affairs, and who meets all other qualifications of this title
4 and is otherwise mentally and physically fit, shall be issued
5 a free regular hunting or furtaking license upon application
6 to the commission or a county treasurer.
7 (1.1) Any disabled veteran who has a disability incurred
8 in [any war or armed conflict] military service and possesses
9 a disability rating between 60% and 99% as certified by the
10 United States Department of Veterans Affairs and who meets
11 all other qualifications of this act and is otherwise
12 mentally and physically fit shall be issued a resident
13 hunting or furtaking license at the cost of $1 upon
14 application to the commission or a county treasurer.
15 (2) The application for the issuance of a license under
16 paragraph (1) or (1.1) shall, in addition to the other
17 information required by the commission, contain a statement
18 that the applicant is a [war or armed conflict] military
19 veteran and that the qualifying disability was service
20 incurred.

22 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
