It is my intention to introduce legislation that will designate the newly constructed bridge on State Route 72 over the Swatara Creek, located in Swatara Township, Lebanon County, as the Senator David J. Arnold Jr. Memorial Bridge.

I would like to honor Dave Arnold for his years of public service to the commonwealth, Lebanon County, and his local community.

Before becoming elected to the Senate in 2019, Dave served as district attorney for Lebanon County for 14 years.  As district attorney, Dave was a tireless advocate for victims and justice, not just in Lebanon, but throughout Pennsylvania.  He was a member of Governor Corbett’s elder abuse task force and served as president of the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Association.

During Dave’s time in the Pennsylvania Senate, although brief, was marked for his dedication to advancing causes to protect the commonwealth’s children.  Senator Arnold’s noteworthy legislation increased penalties on those convicted of possession of child pornography and established a task force to combat this horrid crime.

Dave Arnold was the embodiment of a dedicated public servant and his leadership on doing what is right for his community has been missed.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
