In 1984, October was designated as "Crime Prevention Month" through a presidential proclamation. Since then, the National Crime Prevention Council has annually recognized and highlighted the practice of crime prevention during this month. The Council collaborates with prevention organizations, justice advocates, and other professionals to reduce crime incidence and address its underlying causes.

Therefore, I am seeking cosponsors for a resolution recognizing the month of October 2024 as "Crime Prevention Month" in Pennsylvania. This resolution aims to raise awareness about crime prevention strategies and encourages proactive measures by communities to enhance safety. Additionally, it promotes collaboration between law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and residents. The joint efforts of government agencies, civic groups, schools, businesses, and youth organizations contribute to creating healthier, safer communities.

I invite you to join me in supporting this important initiative. Please let me know if you would like to cosponsor this resolution.

Thank you for your consideration.
