AN ACT
1 Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, in employees, further providing for
3 automatic certification.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 2168 of Title 53 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 2168. Automatic certification.

10 (f) Fort Indiantown Gap police officer certification.--
11 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, an
12 installation police officer at Fort Indiantown Gap under 51
13 Pa.C.S. § 711 (relating to installation of police officers for
14 Fort Indiantown Gap and other designated Commonwealth military
15 installations and facilities) shall be eligible to maintain
16 certification if the installation police officer meets the
17 following:
18 (1) Satisfactorily completed the basic educational and
 1 training requirements established under this subchapter.
2 (2) Satisfactorily completed the minimum number of in-
3 service training hours established by the commission and
4 required to maintain certification.
5 (3) Either:
6 (i) has an active certification on or after the
7 effective date of this subsection; or
8 (ii) was previously certified as a police officer by
9 the commission, which certification lapsed within the
10 last two years, and has been employed, with no lapse in
11 service, as an installation police officer at Fort
12 Indiantown Gap.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
