As part of my Ratepayer Relief package, I plan to introduce legislation requiring the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to convene a stakeholder group for each public utility service including electricity, natural gas, telecommunications, and water/wastewater.

The purpose of each PUC stakeholder group is to report to their Senate and House oversight committees on which laws, regulations, or policy statements under the commission’s jurisdiction should be repealed or amended to reduce ratepayer impact and permit the public utility to operate in a more effective, efficient, or economical manner. Each task force will have a year to meet and issue their findings in a report.

As utility bills continue to increase, it is important to look back and see where the cost drivers are and whether it’s possible to alleviate these burdens to enhance ratepayer relief.

Please join me in cosponsoring legislation as we continue to advance utility cost-saving policies for consumers.
