Recently, Blair County approached me because they had an issue with their milk contract for their prison.  Due to the language in the county code, they were required to rebid their contract costing them several thousand dollars more than it typically would.

Therefore, I am proposing a simple amendment to the county code to allow counties to buy milk for their prisons without having to go through any lengthy hurdles.  Currently, 2nd Class A counties already have an exemption for these purchases and my legislation would expand it to cover all third through eight class counties.  This legislation is simple but will save our counties thousands of dollars annually.

Please join me in sponsoring this important legislation.
