A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing November 5, 2024, as Jason Kelce's birthday, and
2 December 13, 2024, as Fletcher Cox's birthday; and honoring
3 their careers as former players for the Philadelphia Eagles.
4 WHEREAS, Jason Kelce, born November 5, 1987, in Westlake,
5 Ohio, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2011
6 National Football League (NFL) Draft to play as a center; and
7 WHEREAS, Jason Kelce played a total of 193 games over 13
8 seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles, consecutively starting in
9 156 of those games, was named an All-Pro player six times and
10 was selected as a Pro Bowl player seven times; and
11 WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox, born December 13, 1990, in Yazoo City,
12 Mississippi, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2012
13 NFL Draft to play as a defensive tackle; and
14 WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox played a total of 188 games over 12
15 seasons for the Philadelphia Eagles, was named an All-Pro player
16 four times and was selected as a Pro Bowl player six times,
1 consecutively; and
2 WHEREAS, Both players were integral to the continued success
3 of the Philadelphia Eagles over the past 13 seasons, and both
4 were instrumental to the team's first Super Bowl victory in
5 Super Bowl LII; and
6 WHEREAS, Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have worked with and
7 supported numerous charitable organizations and causes during
8 their time as players for the Philadelphia Eagles, showing their
9 support for the City of Brotherly Love both on and off the
10 field; and
11 WHEREAS, Jason Kelce is the founder of the (Be)Philly
12 Foundation, which supports charities that assist students in
13 Philadelphia public schools, particularly students from
14 historically underserved communities, by providing them with the
15 resources they need to improve their economic and educational
16 outcomes; and
17 WHEREAS, Fletcher Cox has donated $100,000 to the
18 Philadelphia Police Foundation to support the equipment needs of
19 the police; and
20 WHEREAS, Both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have ardently
21 supported the Eagles Autism Foundation, helping to raise
22 millions of dollars for the organization, which provides funding
23 and resources for the autism research and care community; and
24 WHEREAS, Both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox announced in early
25 March 2024 that they were retiring from football after playing
26 for the Philadelphia Eagles for the entirety of their respective
27 careers; and
28 WHEREAS, During their time with the Philadelphia Eagles, both
29 men have continually shown through their words, actions and
30 charitable deeds what it means to be a Philadelphian; and

1 WHEREAS, While their sports careers may be over, their
2 passion and love for Philadelphia will surely continue to
3 inspire current and future generations of Pennsylvanians;
4 therefore be it
5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize
6 November 5, 2024, as Jason Kelce's birthday, and December 13,
7 2024, as Fletcher Cox's birthday; and be it further
8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor their
9 careers as former players for the Philadelphia Eagles.
