AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, in registration of vehicles, further providing for
3 USA semiquincentennial registration plates and providing for
4 alternative USA semiquincentennial heritage registration
5 plates.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 1369.4 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
9 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
10 § 1369.4. USA semiquincentennial registration plates.

12 (b.2) Additional donation.--The department shall allow an
13 additional donation on the application for the USA
14 semiquincentennial registration plate. The donation shall be
15 deposited into the Semiquincentennial Restricted Account
16 established under subsection (b.1).

18 Section 2. Title 75 is amended by adding a section to read:
19 § 1369.5. Alternative USA semiquincentennial heritage
1 registration plates.
2 (a) General rule.--In addition to the USA semiquincentennial
3 registration plate authorized under section 1369.4 (relating to
4 USA semiquincentennial registration plate), the department shall
5 design an alternative USA semiquincentennial heritage
6 registration plate.
7 (b) Application and payment.--Upon application and payment
8 of a fee of $52 by a person, which shall be in addition to the
9 registration fee, the department shall issue an alternative USA
10 semiquincentennial heritage registration plate for a motorcycle,
11 a passenger car or a truck with a registered gross weight of not
12 more than 14,000 pounds or a motor home.
13 (c) Disposition of fee.--Twenty-five dollars of the fee
14 under subsection (b) shall be deposited into the
15 Semiquincentennial Restricted Account established under section
16 1369.4 for use by the Pennsylvania Commission for the United
17 States Semiquincentennial for activities related to the
18 semiquincentennial.
19 (d) Additional donation.--The department shall allow an
20 additional donation on the application for the alternative USA
21 semiquincentennial heritage registration plate. The donation
22 shall be deposited into the Semiquincentennial Restricted
23 Account.
24 (e) Description of plate.--
25 (1) The plate shall include the following:
26 (i) The phrase "1776-America 250-2026" at the top of
27 the plate.
28 (ii) The liberty bell in the center of the plate.
29 (iii) The word "Pennsylvania" at the bottom of the
30 plate.

1 (2) The background of the plate shall be blue with a
2 yellow gold outline of the Commonwealth.
3 (3) The letters, numbers and outline of the Commonwealth
4 on the plate shall be stamped into the surface of the plate
5 such that the letters, numbers and outline of the
6 Commonwealth are raised from the surface of the plate in a
7 manner that is similar to the design of the Pennsylvania 1956
8 general issuance plate.
9 (f) Expiration.--The department may not issue the plate
10 after December 31, 2026.
11 Section 3. This act shall take effect in six months.
