AN ACT
1 Making appropriations from a restricted revenue account within
2 the General Fund and from Federal augmentation funds to the
3 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for the fiscal year
4 July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
8 necessary, are specifically appropriated from the restricted
9 revenue account within the General Fund and from Federal
10 augmentation funds to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
11 to provide for the operation of the commission for the fiscal
12 year July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, for the purposes and in the
13 amounts shown:
14 Federal State
15 For the salaries, wages and all
16 necessary expenses for the proper
17 operation and administration of the
18 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission,
1 including the chairman and
2 commissioners and the Bureau of Safety
3 and Enforcement.
4 State appropriation............ 88,386,000
5 The following Federal augmentation
6 amounts, or as much thereof as may be
7 necessary, are specifically
8 appropriated to supplement the sum
9 authorized to be billed to utilities
10 for the operation of the commission:
11 (1) "Natural Gas Pipeline Safety" -
12 To enforce the regulations of the
13 Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act.
14 Federal appropriation........... 4,045,000 <--
15 FEDERAL APPROPRIATION........... 4,200,000 <--
16 (2) "Motor Carrier Safety."
17 Federal appropriation........... 2,016,000
18 (3) "IRA - TRANSMISSION SITING <--
19 PROGRAM."
20 FEDERAL APPROPRIATION........... 1,500,000
21 Any Federal funds which the
22 Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission
23 receives pursuant to these
24 appropriations shall not be reimbursed
25 to any utility.
26 SECTION 2. THIS ACT SHALL APPLY RETROACTIVELY TO JULY 1, <--
27 2024.
28 Section 2 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024, or <--
