AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 22, 1931 (P.L.594, No.203), entitled
2 "An act establishing certain township roads as State
3 highways; authorizing their construction, maintenance, and
4 improvement under certain conditions and restrictions;
5 limiting the obligation of the Commonwealth in the
6 construction of certain structures located on such highways;
7 conferring certain powers upon the Department of Highways and
8 local authorities, persons, associations and corporations for
9 sharing the cost of the maintenance and construction of such
10 highways; and making an appropriation to carry out the
11 provisions of said act," adding a route in Dauphin County AND <--
12 A ROUTE IN YORK COUNTY.
13 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
14 hereby enacts as follows:
15 Section 1. Section 23 of the act of June 22, 1931 (P.L.594, <--
16 No.203), referred to as the Township State Highway Law, is
17 amended by adding a route to read:
18 SECTION 1. SECTIONS 23 AND 67 OF THE ACT OF JUNE 22, 1931 <--
19 (P.L.594, NO.203), REFERRED TO AS THE TOWNSHIP STATE HIGHWAY
20 LAW, ARE AMENDED BY ADDING ROUTES TO READ:
21 Section 23. The township roads to be taken over, under the
22 provisions of this act, in the COUNTY OF DAUPHIN, are those
1 situate and described as follows:
2 * * *
3 Bow Creek Road Route T-612. The section of Bow Creek Road
4 beginning at the intersection with Jonestown Road (T-601),
5 heading in a northerly direction to a point at the intersection
6 of SR 443 (formerly Legislative Route 22024) a distance of
7 10,085 feet or 1.91 miles.
8 SECTION 67. THE TOWNSHIP ROADS TO BE TAKEN OVER, UNDER THE <--
9 PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT, IN THE COUNTY OF YORK, ARE THOSE SITUATE
10 AND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:

12 SUSQUEHANNA TRAIL T-956 (FORMERLY LEGISLATIVE ROUTE 333).
13 UPON COMPLETION OF CERTAIN PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS AND COMPLETION
14 OF THE CANAL ROAD STATE ROUTE 921 BETTERMENT PROJECT, THAT
15 SECTION OF THE SUSQUEHANNA TRAIL BEGINNING AT MUNICIPAL LINE
16 WITH MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, YORK COUNTY, STATION 1038+52 HEADING
17 IN A NORTHERLY DIRECTION TO START OF STATE ROUTE 297, AT STATION
18 1146+76, A DISTANCE OF 10,824 FEET OR 2.05 MILES.
19 Section 2. The following apply:
20 (1) If South Hanover Township, DAUPHIN COUNTY, accepts <--
21 the turn-back of Canal Road (State Route 2022, formerly
22 Legislative Route 22051) from a beginning point at Sand Beach
23 Road (SR 2015), Segment 0010 Offset 0000 (station 0+00)
24 heading in an easterly direction to municipal line with East
25 Hanover Township, Segment 0010 Offset 2378 (station 23+78)
26 for a distance of 2,378 feet or 0.450 miles, having an
27 existing right-of-way width of 40 feet, the Department of
28 Transportation of the Commonwealth shall transmit notice of
29 the acceptance to the Legislative Reference Bureau for
30 publication in the next available issue of the Pennsylvania

1 Bulletin.
2 (2) If East Hanover Township, DAUPHIN COUNTY, accepts <--
3 the turn-back of Canal Road (State Route 2022, formerly
4 Legislative Route 22051) from a beginning point at the
5 municipal line with South Hanover Township, Segment 0010
6 Offset 2378 (station 23+78) heading in an easterly direction
7 to SR 0743 (formerly Legislative Route 22014), Segment 0040
8 Offset 2665 (station 111+49) for a distance of 8,771 feet or
9 1.661 miles, having an existing right-of-way width of 40
10 feet, the Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth
11 shall transmit notice of the acceptance to the Legislative
12 Reference Bureau for publication in the next available issue
13 of the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
14 Section 3. Notwithstanding any other provision of this act,
15 the Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth shall
16 maintain ownership of the structure on Canal Road over Bow Creek
17 (BMS 22202200300964/ BRKEY 14499).
18 SECTION 4. IF CONEWAGO TOWNSHIP, YORK COUNTY, ACCEPTS THE <--
19 TURN-BACK OF BOWERS BRIDGE ROAD (STATE ROUTE 1013, FORMERLY
20 LEGISLATIVE ROUTE 66200) FROM A BEGINNING POINT AT CONEWAGO
21 CREEK ROAD (STATE ROUTE 1004), SEGMENT 0010 OFFSET 0000 (STATION
22 0+00) HEADING IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION TO INTERSECTION WITH CLY
23 ROAD STATE ROUTE 1913, SEGMENT 0030 OFFSET 3112 (STATION 91+13)
24 FOR A DISTANCE OF 9,113 FEET OR 1.726 MILES, HAVING AN EXISTING
25 RIGHT-OF-WAY WIDTH OF 40 FEET, AND UPON THE COMPLETION OF
26 PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS ON STATE ROUTE 921, THE DEPARTMENT OF
27 TRANSPORTATION OF THE COMMONWEALTH SHALL TRANSMIT NOTICE OF THE
28 ACCEPTANCE AND COMPLETION OF PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO THE
29 LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE BUREAU FOR PUBLICATION IN THE NEXT
30 AVAILABLE ISSUE OF THE PENNSYLVANIA BULLETIN.

1 Section 4 5. This act shall take effect as follows: <--
2 (1) This section SECTIONS 2, 3 AND 4 OF THIS ACT AND <--
3 THIS SECTION shall take effect immediately.
4 (2) Sections 2 and 3 of this act shall take effect <--
5 immediately.
6 (3) (2) The amendment of section 23 of the act shall <--
7 take effect upon publication of the notices in the
8 Pennsylvania Bulletin under section 2 of this act.
9 (3) THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 67 OF THE ACT SHALL TAKE <--
10 EFFECT UPON PUBLICATION OF THE NOTICE IN THE PENNSYLVANIA
11 BULLETIN UNDER SECTION 4 OF THIS ACT.
