In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation formalizing the tourism improvement district (TID) process in Pennsylvania.

TIDs are aimed at boosting business in a specific geographic area by enhancing brand development, marketing initiatives, public relations, digital marketing expansion, and special event subsidies. These districts play a key role in increasing visitation to areas, spurring economic development, generating jobs, and reviving commerce.

This legislation would simply serve as enabling legislation for counties that want to enact a TID in their local communities. A formalized TID process in Pennsylvania would result in a stable source of funding through a locally approved assessment on lodging stays established between the enabling county and a coalition of property owners.

TIDs do not require any new General Fund dollars from state or local governments, and are a proven source of steady, dedicated funding for neighborhood promotion. Please join us in supporting businesses and economic development in our communities.
