Act 55 of 2017 created the Commission for Agricultural Education Excellence, which was intended by the  General Assembly to more effectively deliver agricultural education in the Commonwealth by combining current separate efforts in the PA Departments of Agriculture and Education into one efficient joint venture.  Act 55 charged the Commission with issuing an annual report on the status of agricultural education in this Commonwealth by May 1st of 2018 and May 1st of each year thereafter.  However, as part of the recommendations from the report each year, the Commission notes that the May 1st deadline does not provide enough time for school districts to supply the necessary information to the Commission.  The earliest the Commission is supplied with the information necessary to put together the report is mid-June and the Commission then must vote on the report, which is generally done at the August meeting of the Commission.  For this reason, I will be introducing a bill to push back the annual reporting deadline to December 1st of each year.
