                                     AN ACT
 1   Amending the act of May 9, 2018 (P.L.118, No.24), entitled "An
 2      act establishing the Maternal Mortality Review Committee and
 3      providing for its powers and duties; providing for duties of
 4      the Department of Health; and imposing a penalty," further
 5      providing for Maternal Mortality Review Committee and for
 6      purpose and duties of committee.
 7      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 8   hereby enacts as follows:
 9      Section 1.    Section 4 of the act of May 9, 2018 (P.L.118,
10   No.24), known as the Maternal Mortality Review Act, is amended
11   by adding a subsection to read:
12   Section 4.    Maternal Mortality Review Committee.

14      (i)     Severe maternal morbidity data.--The department shall
15   annually publish severe maternal morbidity data using
16   hospitalization discharge data obtained from the Pennsylvania
17   Health Care Cost Containment Council. This data also shall be
18   included in the report submitted by the committee under section
19   5(b)(5).
 1      Section 2.     Section 5(b)(5) of the act is amended to read:
 2   Section 5.     Purpose and duties of committee.

 4      (b)   Duties.--The following apply:

 6            (5)   The committee shall disseminate aggregated,
 7      nonindividually identifiable findings and recommendations at
 8      least every [three years] year to the secretary, the
 9      chairperson of the Health and Human Services Committee of the
10      Senate, the chairperson of the Health Committee of the House
11      of Representatives, health care providers, health care
12      facilities and the general public.
13      Section 3.     This act shall take effect in 90 days.
