AN ACT
1 Amending Title 51 (Military Affairs) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, in Department of Military Affairs,
3 further providing for veterans registry; and making an
4 editorial change.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Chapter 7 heading of Title 51 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9 CHAPTER 7
10 DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY AND VETERANS AFFAIRS
11 Section 2. Section 712(f) of Title 51 is amended and the
12 section is amended by adding a subsection to read:
13 ยง 712. Veterans registry.

15 (e.1) Community outreach.--The department may transmit
16 information collected under this section to county directors of <--
17 veterans affairs for use in community outreach under the PA
1 VETConnect Program established in section 714 (relating to PA
2 VETConnect Program). VETERAN AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PARTNERS WHO <--
3 PARTICIPATE IN COMMUNITY OUTREACH UNDER THE PA VETCONNECT
4 PROGRAM OR ANY PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT.
5 (f) Report.--By [January 1, 2018, and each January 1
6 thereafter] February 1 of each year, the department shall submit
7 to the chairperson and minority chairperson of the Veterans
8 Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee of the Senate and
9 the chairperson and minority chairperson of the Veterans Affairs
10 and Emergency Preparedness Committee of the House of
11 Representatives a report on the registry which shall include:
12 (1) The total number of veterans registered with the
13 department annually.
14 (2) The number of registrants received by each State
15 agency.
16 [(3) The number of veterans who choose not to be
17 included in the registry annually from each State agency.]
18 (4) Outreach expenses incurred by the department.

20 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
